With over 30 years of experience, he has performed more than 30,000 cardiac surgeries, including complex procedures and Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) operations. Dr. Meharwal is renowned for pioneering several advanced cardiac procedures in India and has made significant contributions to teaching and training in the field. He serves as the Programme Director for DNB Cardiothoracic Surgery at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute and has mentored numerous cardiac surgeons in India and abroad, many of whom now practice independently at various centers.
