Dr. Akash specialises in treating elderly patients. Elderly patient have many unique health issues along with multiple chronic illnesses all happening together in the single patient. During his tenure at AIIMS he dealt with various complex cases. He published more than 10 papers in international medial journals and organised conferences at AIIMS. He was part of the team involved in initial planning and making national centre for ageing at AIIMS, New Delhi functional during his tenure as a Senior Resident there.
