Dr. Jitender Rohila is an expert surgical oncologist with a vast surgical experience of more than 10 years. His focus areas of expertise are Gastrointestinal (GI) oncology, minimal access surgeries (Advanced laparoscopy and Robotic), transanal surgeries & sphincter-saving surgeries for low rectal cancers, Exenterative surgeries for advanced and recurrent pelvic cancers, Cytoreductive surgeries, and HIPEC for peritoneal surface cancers.
Dr. Jitender Rohila did his MS (Surgery) from AIIMS, New Delhi and completed his MCh course in surgical oncology from the reputed Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai, one of the premier cancer care centres in the country. He later got his fellowship in GI oncology from Tata memorial centre, where he was trained in robotic, laparoscopic colorectal surgery, cytoreductive surgery, and HIPEC for colorectal cancer, and transanal surgeries for small rectal cancers under Prof. Avanish Saklani.
He received further training in peritoneal malignancies, cytoreductive surgery, HIPEC, and PIPAC to deal with pseudomyxoma peritonei, peritoneal mesotheliomas, other GI cancers with peritoneal diseases, primary peritoneal malignancies with Dr. Sanket Mehta at Saifee Hospital, Mumbai.
He has worked as Assistant Professor in GI and HPB division of Surgical Oncology at the prestigious Tata Memorial centre in Mumbai, before joining Tata memorial centre Punjab as Associate Professor.
