Prof. Sukhbir Uppal graduated (MBBS) from the elite Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) in Pune. He then did his MD in General Medicine from the same institution. Thereafter he went on to do his Postdoctoral Fellowship in Rheumatology from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), the premier medical institution of Asia. Further, he obtained Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP-UK), Edinburgh, and Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology (FACR-USA). He has acquired expertise in musculoskeletal ultrasound by several advanced level training courses in Europe, USA, and the Middle East, including the European Teach-the-Teacher Course. He is well versed in the use of modern biologic agents and intra-articular procedures for treating inflammatory rheumatic diseases. After standing first in all professional training courses and meritorious service in the Indian Army as Consultant and Lieutenant Colonel, he was the Head of Rheumatology in the University Teaching Hospital in Kuwait and full time Associate Professor.
