Dr HJS Gill, Nephrologist organized ‘Sahaayak’ meet

Foris Hospital Mohali organized Sahaayak- ‘a support group for dialysis patients’ on August 28, 2019. Over 65 patients and attendants participated in this session. The purpose of this meet was to provide the Dialysis patients and their families with an opportunity to discuss their medical, dietary and psychological issues with the medical experts. Mr Sukhwinder Singh hosted the event.

The meet started with the ceremonial lamp lighting by the patients who are on dialysis in the august presence of Dr HJS Gill - Senior Consultant- Nephrology, Dr Amit Sharma, Consultant- Nephrology. Dr HJS Gill interacted with the patients on the latest developments in the field of dialysis. Dr Amit Sharma advised patients to act early to prevent kidney disease. He also shared health tips to keep kidneys healthy. Patients who underwent  Kidney Transplantation also shared their experiences.  They spoke very high about the dialysis and renal transplant unit. The dialysis team presented a few token of appreciations to the patients who underwent renal transplantation and to the patients who kept  a positive attitude towards life.
