Health Talk by Dr Sukhbir Uppal-Rheumatologist on 'Osteoarthritis’ held for Senior Citizens

An informative session on ‘Osteoarthritis’ was organized for the members of Mohali Seniors Citizens  Association at Fortis Hospital Mohali. Dr. Sukhbir Uppal, Consultant- Rheumatologist interacted with the members. More than 95 members attended the session. Dr Uppal  shared a very valuable information on  arthritis, its symptoms, causes and treatment plan. He said that Osteoarthritis is the most common type of arthritis, and it is more likely to occur in people who are overweight and in those with jobs that stress particular joints. Speaking on the available treatment options, Dr Sukhbir said that the most successful treatment programs involve a combination of treatments like exercise, weight control, medications,  lifestyle modifications to manage pain and improve function. With advanced technology and the world-class medical services, it is now possible to treat the most challenging cases with fewer complications and longer-lasting results.
