International Workshop on Complex Angioplasty

The International Workshop on Complex Angioplasty was hosted by the Department of Cardiac Sciences of Fortis Hospital Anandapur from 3rd to 7th April 2018. A total of 11 doctors from Bangladesh, Nepal and India were a part of the workshop. Dr. Shuvanan Ray, Head of the Department of Cardiology at Fortis Hospital Anandapur convened the workshop.

  This live interactive workshop focused on Complex Angioplasty and ROTA.  The first 2 days of the workshop was on ROTA whereas the next 5 days focused on Complex Angioplasty. This workshop will be a quarterly event and will take place at Fortis Centre of Cardiac Sciences, which is Eastern India’s designated Centre of Excellence for ROTA.

  As Dr. Shuvanan Ray correctly states, “ROTA is a very difficult procedure but there are very few places where this technique is taught. The Department of Cardiac Sciences at Fortis Hospitals Anandapur is one of the leading names in interventional cardiology in the region and we have many path breaking cases to our credit.” Dr. Shuvanan Ray is Boston Scientific’s designated proctor for Eastern India and the Department of Cardiac Sciences also came up with the innovative Nano Crush technique of bifurcation stenting in 2017.
