Dr Ranjan’s surgery on heaviest kidney transplant patient in India enters Limca Book of Records.

His determination to provide the best medical treatment to his patients has yet again brought honours to Dr Priyadarshi Ranjan, the Kidney Transplant Surgeon at Fortis Hospital Mohali. The young surgeon’s feat of performing a Kidney Transplant Surgery on 160-kg-heavy Mr Ruldu Singh has made it to the 2015 edition of Limca Book of Records. Singh, all of 36, is the heaviest patient in India to successfully receive a kidney transplant. The highly complex surgery was performed by Dr Ranjan and his able team at Fortis Mohali in December 2014.

The Limca Book of records officially conveyed the acceptance of the record to Dr Ranjan a week ago. This is the transplant surgeon’s second entry in the record book after the 2012 kidney cancer operation on the oldest man to get such a surgery in India.
