The day was also dedicated to extend free consultation and a complementary screening of Hepatitis B and C was also organized for all the attendees. About 60 people attended the program with a good interactive session with both the doctors.

The liver is the second largest and the most complex organ in the body, with the exception of the brain. It is a key player in our body’s digestive system. Everything we eat or drink, including medicine, passes through the liver. One cannot survive without this vital organ. It is an organ which can be easily damaged if we do not take good care of it.

Dr. Ajay Bhalla, Additional Director, Department of Gastroenterology said, “Liver disease usually does not cause any obvious signs or symptoms until it is fairly advanced and the liver is damaged. One should always take care of the liver from a very early age.”
