Fortis Surgeons bags award for innovation and medical insights

As a remuneration and recognition for the dedication and expertise shown by the surgeons at Fortis Hospital in the field of medical innovation, Dr Nischal RP, Attending Consultant Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeon and Dr Maruti Y Haranal, Attending Consultant Cardiovascular and Thoracic surgeon have been awarded in the ‘Best Paper Award’ category by the Indian Association of Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgeons (IACTS) for innovation in surgeries.

The awards were presented at the 61st National Conference held at Hyderabad where Fortis Hospitals, Bannerghatta won two out of three awards for best scientific papers presented by doctors from reputed hospitals. The papers titled ‘Sub xiphoid (abdominal) Minimally invasive direct coronary artery bypass’ by Dr Nischal RP and ‘A new inexpensive way of mitral valve repair’ by Dr Maruti Y Haranal have been chosen under the category of innovation in surgeries by the jury panel of 61st National Conference of IACTS.
